Meet the Teacher

My name is Ms. Carletta Shade-Jackson, I am so excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher.

This is my fifth year at Westley Lakes Elementary School as a Kindergaten Teacher.

I have over 20 years of teaching in an elementary and private school setting.

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama.

I am the mother of 4 grown children and NANA to 3 grandchildren

I attended Alabama State, but graduated from Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education!

     I love football ( Alabama: Roll Tide!!). I also love reading and listening to music.

  I am a very energetic and hard-working teacher.

 I am dedicated to the overall goals and achievements of each individual student.

       This will be an awesome and fun-filled year of learning through large and small group instructions.
