Safety Patrol

Safety Patrol Program
At Wesley Lakes Elementary, Safety Patrols are a select group of dedicated fifth graders committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming school environment for all students.

What Makes a Great Safety Patrol Member?
Safety Patrol members exemplify responsibility, respect, cooperation, and helpfulness in all that they do.

Responsibilities of a Safety Patrol
These student leaders serve as ambassadors for our school, performing essential duties such as:

  • Hallway monitoring
  • Assisting students as they exit cars during arrival time
  • Helping students get to class or designated areas without running
  • Assisting/working cooperatively with adults in assigned areas (gym, cafeteria)
  • Greeting families as they enter the building each morning

Program Goals
The Safety Patrol program aims to:

  • Enhance student safety throughout the school day.
  • Foster the development of leadership skills, teamwork, and good citizenship.
  • Encourage positive role modeling by demonstrating and reinforcing the safety rules taught in classrooms.

Safety Patrol members play an important role in ensuring smooth and safe transitions for students throughout the school. This program not only strengthens our community but also empowers our fifth graders to grow as leaders and responsible citizens.
